How about Kate Bush?
I've just bought her debut album 'The Kick Inside' & it's great - and definately prog! Certainly more so than Enya or Lana Lane and they're both on the playlist.
Incidentally now you're including classical music - you'll have to include Bach, the greatest composer *ever*. And on the modern classical tip - as you've already got some Philip Glass (more please!) you should move on to Stockhausen, Harrison Birtwistle and Pierre Boulez! Finally, how about some Miles Davis? We may add some Kate Bush to the station soon.
Keep a look out for Miles Davis' Bitches Brew Sessions boxset, coming to the station very soon as well! Avian |

Well...
Well, as I am not a huge fan of classical music being on this station, if it is going to be here, I think it needs to be minimal. The best of Bach, and Stravinsky's THE RIGHT OF SPRING would be great if more classical is added.
If there's a jazz fusion move here, with BITCHES BREW, then Weather Report and the weirder Charles Minghus stuff would be good.

Rite of Spring
I agree with Yesspaz, the Rite of Spring by Stravinsky certainly strikes a progressive chord in the classical music genre. It was so progressive that it caused a riot when first played in Paris. I would love to hear some pieces from it on AM.

I think I have The Rite of Spring. Some Bach will be added, but since we've had mixed reviews on classical, I'm trying to be selective.
As far as fusion, I plan on adding some of Weather Report, and I'll probably add some Mingus. What do other listeners say to Kate Bush? I have a few of her discs, so we could add a bunch. |

Gotta have some Kate Bush
Oh yeah, gotta have Cloudbusting and Running up that Hill from Hounds of Love and most of the Red Shoes album
![]() I was hesitant to ask myself because of some of the static about Enya and classical being on the site. |

Max Webster
I also have a few Max Webster LP's. I agree that the only stuff that would be considered prog is from their earlier work. Mutiny Up My Sleeve ia also a good album.
Don't judge Max Webster by Kim Mitchell. Max Webster is like Rush meets Frank Zappa whereas Kim Mitchel is like Bon Jovi on a tight budget. A song that is worth a listen is In Context of the Moon which I've found on Kazaa. Wrong post. Please ignore. ![]() Last edited by zvinki : 01-09-2002 at 09:14 AM. |

Gotta get another coffee. ![]() |
