has there been much discussion of why
most here don't care for dream theater?

for my tastes, there's too much "damn, ain't i a virtuoso"
going on. they need to learn to shift gears,
show the ability to be subtle.
to me, that's the mark of a great prog band.
i've always admired pieces like "echoes" for
the simplicity, while maintaining an emotional connection.
30 years down the road, the piece holds up.
i guess that's it. i don't "connect" w/ dream theater.
