Talking Angels

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen
Earlier today here on Aural Moon some of us discussed how great it would be if Jon Anderson and Annie Haslam got together and made an album. And then we got into whom we would like to play on the album. A lot of great names came up but we agreed that Kitaro and Vangelis should do the Keyboards and Bill Bruford should do the drums maybe or someone of that callibre. Whom would you like to see play on the album?. And what name would you give it?

Re: Angels

If Eno is producing, we won't be doing another "yes" project.

Let's put Tony Levin on Bass - love Stanley, but his style is a little one sided. Tony is a little more versitle and the stick work is exciting too.

Martin Oxford (IQ) should also do a guest spot on keys for a song too.

And finally, on Lead how about Alex Lifeson. (maybe even give Neal a guest spot too on percussion.)

Re: Angels

Theo Travis on woodwinds, Franco Mussida on guitar, Benoit Moerlen on mallets and tuned percussion, and Tomas Bodin on keys might be interesting.

Re: Angels

Sun Ra on backing vocals.

Lemmy on Bass

Tony Iommi on lead

Ringo on drums.

Georgie Fame on Hammond organ.

The band could be called "What the f**k?"

Re: Angels

For my personal taste, and I would like to underline, I can digest them individually very well in homeopathic dosis...Then they are wonderfull. Like Jon with Yes or Vangelis or Annie with Rennaisance.

But having them together, such (kindly speaking) individual (not kindly penetratrating) voices, would be horrible.

I know, that 99% of all of you disagree...but this is my private and personal oppinion... (I am using this saying too much, but: "It is all a matter of taste, the ape said and eats the soap)..

Re: Angels

I say, let's add Sarah McLachlan on keyboards and voice, Akiko Takahashi and Kyoko Kanazawa (from Ars Nova) on drums and bass respectively, keep it all female, and call it "Angellettes".

I agree that Jon and Annie wouldn't work well together - not enough room in the studio or on stage for another singer, what with Jon's ego and all.

Keithie, you crack me up. I owe you 23 pints for that lineup...

Re: Angels

Hey, did anyone every check with Jon's spiritualist to see if we could talk about him singing in another band?

Re: Angels

Annie Haslam and Al Lewis (whose voice is similar to JA's) did a duet at Rosfest on "Song of Times". . It went ok.

I think matching up "star" musicians usually produces uneven results.
