Exclamation Where's the Phish?

Hello All!

Great radio station. Really.

Just one question... I tried to request "You Enjoy Myself" by Phish and sadly came up empty. Am I doing something wrong? Surely they're in rotation, yes?

In my opinion, Phish did more to keep the progressive spirit of rock alive during the 90's than any other band.

Also, Is there a way to suggest and/or submit mp3's of music that's not listed?

Anyway, great station. I got so excited I donated fifty bucks on the spot. And I NEVER do that, EVER.

Guess you hit a nerve.

Well, this forum is the place to suggest new bands/songs - as the Program Director, I continually work on identifying new additions to the station, and we often follow suggestions from the forums when acquiring new music. That being said, I do own some Phish, and will listen to it to see if we agree it should be added - I don't think of them as overtly prog, but I have thought about adding some selected tracks - so I'll give another listen - stay tuned.

Talking Yes, Phish . . .

I do agree that some Phish would fit well with the playlist, especially some of the early stuff. I'd definitely say that Lawn Boy, Picture of Nectar, and Rift would be great additions. Of course, maybe I'm biased since I have a great concert of them from around Lawn Boy that I'd want to play on Extended Play at some point.

Well, I've ripped "A Live One" from Phish, and will be adding most of it, including "You Enjoy Myself", to the playlist soon.

It's funny how your perception of music can change - listening to "You Enjoy Myself" while thinking "prog" for the first time, I realized that there's a strong Yes feel to the intro that I hadn't noticed before.

Lawn Boy to the rescue!

Lawn Boy continually strikes me with some very prog moments. Trey's solos on that one particularly sparkle with a few very zappa-tinged moments thay make my ears perk up. Squirming Coil and Reba, whoooooo boy! Think I'll have to throw that one in again.

Both A Picture Of Nectar and Rift are just amazing also . . . (no hints there, huh?)
