I don't think so, Keith
I'm quite busy, so I'll help...
Moses said 70's bands, ruling out PT. I think the King refers to King Crimson. I'm also thinking the Wall is a Floyd refernce. |

royal whim = King Crimson - Lark's Tongue In Aspic
nice pass, Rick! Easy lay up with that assist... I was thinking off the wall was a Floyd reference too, so I listened to the whole stinking album (The Wall) but didn't catch it. I did rip the album for addition to the playlist though, so it wasn't a total loss... Last edited by progdirjim : 02-02-2004 at 11:46 AM. |

1. Water, water everywhere - Pink Floyd - Echoes - Albatross 2. Off the wall 3. Holy Spirit wings - Iona - The Flight of the Wild Goose (Instrumental) - Goose 4. A royal whim - King Crimson - Lark's Tongues in Aspic - Lark 5. She's your sister? - Yes - Starship Trooper - Bluebird Just one more. I would have thought you'd have this one by now. why doesn't Rick take it, since his assist on KC - Lark was key, and I've posed a question more recently....

Jim -
I can do one but it would be in a day or two - work is quite the bitch. I didn't expect to be competitive on this question, that's why I punted it before.
I should be able to do one by Wed. |

go for it - I'm going to be out of the competition for most of the next two-three weeks between work, skiing, and London - I may get a guess or two in if Keithie lets me near his computer though...

The travelling theme ties in well with the next question. I have some research to do, and this is a busy week for me, so hopefully you will see it by Monday.
It will involve the use of DISTANCE. |

Geography!!!
OK, let's see how this goes. What you need to do is tell me, based on the clues, the two geographical regions mentioned. They could be countries, US states, or cities around the globe. Hell, there's even a space question!
There's no need to identify the songs, just the places. Each place could be part of a song title, or more frequently, part of a lyric. All of the artists are on Aural Moon, but three or four songs are not. I've also pinned each clue down to the continent, Without clues, I'll give you a bonus point. Otherwise, it's one for each question. Example: If I say, 90 miles from North America Elton John to North America Zappa, the answer would be Philadelphia (Freedom) and Baltimore (what's new in Baltimore). They are approx 90 miles apart. Let's go: 1) 600 miles from Eurasian Focus to European Jethro Tull. 2) 1,000 miles from Asian Rush to Asian Dregs. 3) 1,900 miles from North America Genesis to N. A. Djam Karet. 4) 1,000 miles from North America Zappa to N.A. Supertramp. 5) 0 miles from Noth American Transatlantic to Flower Kings. 6) 500 miles from North American Yes to N.A. King Crimson. 7) 60 light years from Celestial FM to Gentle Giant. 8) 1,430 miles from Central America ELP to North Amer Marillion. 9) 2,700 miles from African Al Dimeola to African Peter Gabriel. 10) 750 miles from European UK to European Mike Oldfield. Have fun, plenty of clues available! |

[b]1) Turkey - Budapest Very close - Budapest is right and Turkey is close in proximity (very close) - I forgot Focus has a tune called "Turkey Lurkey" - however, I did not include place names if they weren't meant to be (eg PG's "San Jacinto" refers to the Indian, not the city so it wouldn't be admissible). Now here's the tricky part - It's a lyric in a Focus song (that should greatly narrow it down). 2) Bangkok - Seattle Bangkok is right, looking for Asia with the Dregs. 5) Memphis NO 7) Aldebaran - The Moon Yes! Check Avian for the distance ![]() So, Keith has 2 for #7, and a half point each for the other two = 3 points total. |
