An open letter to the Appleseed Cast over-requester...

To whomever is requesting the ever-loving crap out of "Blind Man's Arrow/Flowers Falling From Dying Hands" by The Appleseed Cast: please stop.

I hate it when someone gets a really big crush on a song and requests it daily. That's fine for a week, but if you really like it that much, buy the album, or perhaps try requesting other stuff by The Appleseed Cast. There are 12 TAC songs here. Pick one of the other 11.

"Blind Man's Arrow" is the new "Rome." This is not a good thing. Why? Because when a song gets seriously over-requested to the point that we groan when we see that artist in the queue because we know what song it'll be, it will get yanked from the playlist. If you are living out a vicarious fantasy of being a record promoter, please realize that this is counter-productive. If the song gets yanked, who'll hear it?

I am quite passionate about this because Appleseed Cast is one of my favorite bands, and "Low Level Owl" is one of my favorite albums, and I don't want to see any song get pulled (I didn't mind so much when it was "Rome" ).

I realize I'm probably boxing shadows, because you are probably not a forum reader, but I hope you see this. Please stop.

You're wasting your breath (or keystrokes), Spaz. It's the same person that's overrequested Flower Kings, Blue Shift's Rome, a few Transatlantic songs, and the 20 or so other songs that they've just about driven off the site.

And if the next time it shows up in the request list, requested by them, is before 23:59:59 MDT on Thursday, September 23, 2004, it will be removed.

I'm giving this warning because there are regulars that like this song. Others will not be so lucky.

I'm working on it as fast as I can, Spaz.

And if you have any ideas on how to speed the process up, I'm all ears.

Roger -Dot- Lee, just as fed up as you are.
