Just saw these bands in Philly last week; still listening to their CDs.
-Barn Owl: The Conjurer
-High Avrad: Third Life

-Cabezas De Cera: s/t
-Eloy: Power And The Passion
-House Of Freaks: Tantilla (2004 edition with much bonus material), this band is a very good modern rock duo circa 1989

High Avrad is one guy on all types of electronics and occasional guitar. I think he had some problems with his equipment during the show, cutting it short. The CD is better.
Anyway, the venerable Loren Mazzacane Connors was also on hand. He's a NYC legend with avant stylings on guitar.

-Black Crowes: By Your Side If you like rock-n-gospel, there might not be a better album than this one! Check out "Diamond Ring" or "Go Tell The Congregation"

-Marc Ribot Y Los Cubanos Postizos: Muy Divertido This album is nowhere as good as their first album. The track "Las Lomas De New Jersey" is one of the worst songs of all time. :eek:
